After a limited theatrical release last month, director Matthew Goodhue’s exceedingly lovable killer sloth slasher comedy Slotherhouse is now available on VOD platforms.

Slotherhouse is a brand new horror-comedy that tells the story of college senior Emily Young, who unknowingly invites an adorable murderous sloth onto campus.

“It’s senior year of college for sorority sister Emily Young and for the first time ever, Sigma Lambda Theta is having elections for who will be president. Wanting to have a killer year, Emily Young realizes she might just be the best option for her sorority. While beginning her campaign, she finds an adorable sloth that steals her heart and soon realizes she just might steal the hearts, and votes, of her sorority sisters. But when bodies slowly begin to pile up in the Sigma Lambda Theta house, Emily and her sorority sisters realize the deaths are being caused by their new house mascot, the cuddly sloth Alpha. Will Emily and her sisters escape the house with their lives? Or is this death-sloth with 3 razor sharp claws too quick for them?”

Lisa Ambalavanar, Sydney Craven, Olivia Rouyre, Bianca Beckles-Rose, Andrew Horton, Sutter Nolan, Grace Patterson, Milica Vrzić, Annamaria Serda, Rudi Rok, Tiff Stevenson and Stefan Kapičić also star.

Bradley Fowler wrote the screenplay. Story by Fowler and Cady Lanigan.

The new genre label Welcome Villain Films burst onto the scene with Malum this year, and they’re back this week with the gory Australian horror movie Beaten to Death.

Beaten to Death is now available on VOD outlets.

The film “unfolds after a desperate choice leads a man named Jack down a path that leaves him beaten and bruised as he struggles against man, nature, and his own insanity.”

Sam Curtain directed Beaten to Death, co-written with Benjamin Jung-ClarkeThomas Roach, David Tracy, Justan Wagner and Nicole Tudor star.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her Panic Fest review, “With Beaten to Death, there’s no question that filmmaker Sam Curtain delivers a discomforting gauntlet of extreme horror.”

On the small screen this week, FX’s hit horror anthology series returns with “American Horror Story: Delicate – Part One,” which premieres on FX tonight, September 20.

Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts are set to headline “American Horror Story: Delicate,” with Cara Delevingne (“Carnival Row”) also set to star in the new season.

In “American Horror Story: Delicate,” after multiple failed attempts of IVF, actress Anna Victoria Alcott wants nothing more than to start a family. As the buzz around her recent film grows, she fears that something may be targeting her – and her pursuit of motherhood.

Halley Feiffer will be writing/showrunning Season 12.

THR had reported, “The season is titled Delicate and is based, at least in part, on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition. Out in August from Sourcebooks Landmark, the novel is described as a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.”

Shaky Shivers Sung Kang - monster

The directorial debut of Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang, Bloody Disgusting’s SCREAMBOX and Fathom Events are bringing Shaky Shivers to theaters Thursday, September 21.

Frightening and funny, Shaky Shivers puts the camp back in summer camp when it opens in theaters NATIONWIDE for one night only on September 21 from Fathom Events and Bloody Disgusting’s SCREAMBOX. It’ll be a night of zombies, werewolves, and ice cream.

In Shaky Shivers, “After finding herself bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf.

“Joined by her best friend Karen, the two embark on a wild adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they look to do battle with a throat-slashing creature ripped right out of an 80s horror movie.

Written by Andrew McAllister and Aaron Strongoni, the film stars Brooke Markham (In the Dark) and VyVy Nguyen (The Sympathizer). Kang also makes an appearance.

Bishal Dutta’s horror movie It Lives Inside is coming to theaters on Friday, September 22 from NEON, and the film is currently Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an 81% rating.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review for Bloody Disgusting, “It Lives Inside introduces a bold new voice, creating a captivating new spin on demonic horror.”

Megan Suri (“Never Have I Ever,” Missing), Neeru Bajwa (Jatt & Juliet 1 & 2), Mohana Krishnan, Vik Sahay (Captain Marvel, “Chuck”) and Betty Gabriel (Get Out) star.

In It Lives Inside, “Sam is desperate to fit in at school, rejecting her Indian culture and family to be like everyone else. When a mythological demonic spirit latches onto her former best friend, she must come to terms with her heritage in order to defeat it.”

The initial inspiration for the film emerged from the filmmaker’s own childhood experience of being born in India before emigrating to be raised in America. The story draws heavily on both Indian demonic legend and a very personal family story from Dutta’s grandfather. The original screenplay was penned by Dutta based on a story by Dutta and Ashish Mehta.
