Here are the coolest horror collectibles unveiled this week!
As previewed at San Diego Comic-Con, NECA is making an Evil Dead 7″ scale action figure two-pack featuring bloody Ash and possessed Cheryl — making her toy debut! Due out in January, pre-orders are up for $69.99.
Ash comes with two heads and four hands, while Cheryl has three heads (in various states of decay) and six hands. Other accessories include chainsaw, axe, shovel, fire poker, sketch pad, and grave marker. They’re packaged together in a window box with opening flap.
Drag Me to Hell 4K UHD from Scream Factory
Scream Factory has revealed the specs for Sam Raimi’s Drag Me to Hell 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray, which will be released on October 29.
The theatrical version and the unrated director’s cut have been newly scanned in 4K from the original DI film negative, approved by Raimi and editor Bob Murawski, with Dolby Vision.
Raimi co-wrote the 2009 horror film with brother Ivan Raimi (Army of Darkness, Spider-Man 3). Alison Lohman, Justin Long, Lorna Raver, Dileep Rao, David Paymer, and Adriana Barraza star.
A new making-of featurette, Pardon My Curse: Making Drag Me To Hell, has interviews with Lohman, Rao, Raver, Murawski, Ivan Raimi, director of photography Peter Deming, production designer Steve Saklad, artist Christian Cordella, makeup effects designer Greg Nicotero, composer Christopher Young, and more.
Other special features in the three-disc set include: interviews with Lohman, Raver, and Young; production diaries; vintage interviews with Raimi, Lohamn, and Long; theatrical trailer; TV spots; and still gallery.
The Wolfman 4K UHD from Scream Factory
The Wolfman, the 2010 remake of the 1941 classic monster movie, transforms on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on October 22 via Scream Factory.
The 103-minute theatrical version and 119-minute unrated director’s cut of have been newly restored in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.
Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger, Jurassic Park III) directs from a script by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en) and David Self (Road to Perdition). Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving star.
A new commentary on the unrated cut by film critic Drew McWeeny and new interviews with makeup effects artist David Elsey and author Karen Stollznow are included.
Other special features in the three-disc set are: Return of The Wolfman; The Beast Maker; Transformation Secrets; The Wolfman Unleashed; alternate endings; and deleted and extended scenes.
Killer Klowns Popcorn Bazooka from Syndicate Collectibles
Syndicate Collectibles has released an electronic prop replica of Killer Klowns from Outer Space’s popcorn bazooka.
Priced at $99.99, the 24″ of popcorn power features trigger-activated light and sound effects from the movie and a crank handle that “pops” artificial popcorn. It’s rechargeable via USB.
Syndicate’s collectible aims to be more screen accurate than Spirit Halloween’s version, which debuted last year for the same price.
Mothra Pool Float from Middle of Beyond
Even kaiju have to relax, so Middle of Beyond created a Mothra pool float.
The inflatable monster measures 9’ wide and 6’ long and features two cup holders. Priced at $90, it’s expected to ship in early September.
