The Block Island Sound 4K UHD from Synapse

The Block Island Sound will be floating onto 4K Ultra HD on December 10 via Synapse Films. The sci-fi horror film is presented in 4K with HDR10 and 5.1 surround sound.

Streaming on Netflix, the 2020 indie movie is written and directed by brothers Kevin & Matthew McManus (Funeral Kings). Chris Sheffield and Michaela McManus star.

Special Features include: commentary by the McManus brothers; A Practical Apocalypse; Finding the Cast; Filming on the Water; Special Effects on a Shoestring; Los Angeles Behind-the-Scenes; McManus Family Home Movies; and the trailer.

Joe Lipsett’s review of the film says, “Is it aquatic horror? Is it paranormal? Is it possession? Is it a government conspiracy? It may just be all of the above. Regardless of how the film winds up being categorized, by actively seeking to confront and confound genre expectations, The Block Island Sound is a daring horror mish-mash that is well worth seeking out.”
