Just three weeks remain here in 2022, and though the new horror releases are starting to slow down considerably, the good news is that the new horror content never actually stops.
This week, in fact, SIX brand new horror movies are being released!
Here’s all the new horror arriving December 13 – December 18, 2022.
After being released in theaters just last month and biting into $13 million worldwide, Luca Guadagnino‘s cannibal romance Bones and All is already coming home in time for Christmas.
Bones and All is now playing in theaters and is NOW AVAILABLE on Digital!
Suspiria director Luca Guadagnino and writer David Kajganich reteam for the new genre film starring Timothée Chalamet, which is an adaptation of Camille DeAngelis‘s novel.
Taylor Russell (Escape Room) stars alongside Chalamet.
The film is a “story of first love between Maren, a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee, an intense and disenfranchised drifter; a liberating road odyssey of two young people coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are.”
Mark Rylance, André Holland, Jessica Harper, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Gordon-Green, Jake Horowitz, Francesca Scorsese and Chloë Sevigny also star.
Expect this tender yet macabre love story to devour your heart. From Meagan’s review for BD: “Bones and All makes for a sumptuous and sensual feast. There’s a matter-of-factness to the gore, and cannibalism will likely repulse mainstream or unsuspecting audiences. But beneath the viscera and grue is a tender and affecting tale of first love and discovery.

Exorcism horror movie Prey for the Devil (formerly The Devil’s Light) also made its Digital debut yesterday, December 13, in the wake of the film’s theatrical release in October.
In Prey for the Devil, “In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church reopens exorcism schools to train priests in the Rite of Exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield, an unlikely warrior rises: a young nun, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers).
“Sister Ann believes she is answering a calling to be the first female exorcist… but who, or what, called her? In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, Ann seeks out a place at an exorcism school reopened by the Catholic Church. Until now these schools have only trained priests in the Rite of Exorcism – but a professor (Colin Salmon) recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Thrust onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl, who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago. Determined to root out the evil, Ann soon realizes the Devil has her right where he wants her.”
Directed by The Last Exorcism‘s Daniel Stamm and written by Halloween H20: 20 Years Later‘s Robert Zappia, the film also features Virginia Madsen, star of the original Candyman, alongside Lisa Palfrey, Nicholas Ralph, and Ben Cross.
After winning the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Nikyatu Jusu‘s acclaimed horror movie Nanny was picked up by Blumhouse and Amazon, and it first came to theaters last month. Nanny will debut on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.
“Anna Diop (Us) stars as a Senegalese immigrant nanny working for a privileged couple in NYC. As she prepares for the arrival of the son she left behind in West Africa, a violent presence invades her reality, threatening the American Dream she is painstakingly piecing together.”
Michelle Monaghan (The Craft: Legacy), Sinqua Walls (The 15:17 to Paris), Morgan Spector (The Gilded Age), and Rose Decker (Mare of Easttown) also star in Nanny.
Jason Blum said in a statement, “We’re proud to have writer/director Nikyatu Jusu’s Nanny as part of our slate for Amazon. It’s a gem of a horror film that combines impressive filmmaking and powerful storytelling, and is worthy of the Grand Jury Prize it was awarded at Sundance.”
From John R. Leonetti (Annabelle) comes Vertical Entertainment and Alcon Entertainment’s Lullaby, a new horror movie In Theaters and On Demand beginning Friday.

Another new holiday horror movie is on the way this week, with Full Moon Features bringing their movie 12 Slays of Christmas to their streaming service on Friday, December 16.
In 12 Slays of Christmas, “When a trio of lovely young ladies gets their car stuck in a snowstorm, they take shelter in a looming Gothic manor, lorded over by a sinister old man. As their host sits them down for a lavish Holiday feast, ghastly gifts and terrifying tales are unleashed and soon the women wonder if they’ll live to see another Christmas!”
Starring Dare Taylor, Cody Cameron, Lauren Ann Smith, and Tom Fitzpatrick, directed by William Butler and produced by the infamous Charles Band, Full Moon teases that “the film features a who’s who of classic Full Moon characters, and a novel gimmick that will tie into an exciting merchandising line from Full Moon’s new horror toy label, coming in early 2023.”
