Jessica M. Thompson will direct The Bride for Screen Gems, with the Dracula-inspired film being described as “a contemporary horror thriller that tells the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.”
Nathalie Emmanuel (“Game of Thrones”) and Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday) had been set to star, but Deadline reports this week that Hedlund is off the project.
Thomas Doherty (“Gossip Girl”) will be taking Hedlund’s place. The cast will also include Hugh Skinner, Sean Pertwee, and Courtney Taylor, Alana Boden, and Stephanie Corneliussen.
Blair Butler wrote the original script, with revisions by Jessica M. Thompson.
