Squid Games should be your new obsession.
The Netflix series perfectly blends Battle Royale, Hostel, and the Oscar-winning Parasite into an obscenely violent and yet remarkably touching drama that takes on classism in Korea. It’s quite possibly the best piece of entertainment released this year.
While the show’s popularity is slow to catch on (most likely due to the subtitles), it’s beginning to gain a cult following. Netflix’s algorithm must have tipped them off because they’ve launched an official merch store to celebrate the games.
At the aforementioned link, you can pick up a wide variety of fully customizable shirts that commemorate the various games played within the series, as well as others boasting the series cool imagery. The $35+ price point is a bit much and there’s still nothing available outside of the shirts, but hopefully, there’s more on the way as we head into the holiday season.
