Devon Sawa has been having a hell of a run in the horror genre in recent years, appearing in The Fanatic, Hunter Hunter and Don Mancini’s ongoing “Chucky” series, as well as starring alongside Bruce Campbell in the horror-comedy Black Friday that’s out now on VOD.
What’s next from Sawa on the horror front? Chatting with Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew Podcast this week, Sawa teases his next horror project, and it sounds like a fun one.
“It’s basically about… it’s the makers of Texas Chainsaw Massacre… some of the makers, there’s a lot of makers of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I’ve learned,” Sawa tells the podcast. “My character is out in the woods, kidnapping hikers, killing them and rotting their bodies to feed to this monster. And I pick up a couple of hikers… it’s just the three of us in this bunker.”
The actor continues, “It’s got a very psychological… my guy’s almost like a Kurtz character in Apocalypse Now… he’s gone a little bit kooky and it’s really cool. It’s a cool project.”
Filming on the project has wrapped, so expect more soon.
