Amidst the holiday crush, Madmind Studio released a new trailer during their MADNIGHT 2021 showcase earlier this month for their upcoming psychological horror title, Paranoid. The game hasn’t had much in terms of recent updates on its production, with Madmind having been focused on the recently-released Succubus. But with that out of the way, fingers crossed that perhaps 2022 will bring us what looks to be a delightfully disturbing title.
For a refresher, Paranoid is a first-person horror title set in the 80s that tells the story of one Patrick Calman, a 31-year-old man whose entire family has been lost under mysterious circumstances. His parents have died, and his sister has suddenly gone missing. The resulting trauma has caused Patrick’s psyche to crumble, with his apartment now becoming his prison. One day, Patrick receives a phone call from someone who sounds like his sister. Patrick makes the choice to leave his apartment in order to discover the truth. In doing so, he exposes himself to nightmarish experiences that threaten to destroy what’s left of his sanity.
Paranoid isn’t the only title that Madmind are currently working on, having announced their dungeon management title Tormentor last year, as well as announcing this month a new strategy game Agony: Lords of Hell, and their collaboration with developer Black Rat Studio on HELP ME!
Paranoid is currently in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series. Thanks to DSOGaming for the heads up!
