Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer Berzerk Studio have announced that their 2D demon-slaying sidescroller Infernax will arrive for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on February 14. The game has also received a new trailer announcing the release date.
Set in the early years of the crusades, Infernax tells the tale of Alcedor, a great knight who returns to his homeland of Upel, only to find it plagued with unholy magic. While on his quest to find and destroy the source of this corruption, he will face ruthless creatures, enormous demons, deadly traps, precarious terrains, and hard choices.
Those hard choices involve “morality-testing decisions” such as whether to slay the possessed citizens of Upel, or free them from their curse, Your decisions will affect his quest later on, and will also influence which ending you’ll receive. Alcedor will gain experience from slaying monsters in the open world design of Upel, allowing you to unlock skills and increase your power in specific areas. You’ll also be collecting spells and different equipment that will “evolve” with your decisions.
The game is also gory as hell, so if you enjoy pixellated plasma, you’ve come to the right place.
