One of the hottest projects on the horizon is Tim Burton‘s live action series “Wednesday,” which is coming soon to Netflix. Most exciting of all, the series landed Jenna Ortega to play Wednesday Addams, the young actress fresh off a string of horror roles – including The Babysitter 2 and this year’s Scream – that have made her a fan favorite on the scene.
While we wait – and Netflix hasn’t yet set a premiere date for Tim Burton’s series – we’ve learned today that the 1991 feature film The Addams Family is on its way to Netflix.
Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, The Addams Family begins streaming on February 1, 2022. The movie actually just came to 4K last year, celebrating its big 30th anniversary.
In the 1991 live action movie, “When long-lost Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) reappears after 25 years in the Bermuda Triangle, Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) plan a celebration to wake the dead. But Wednesday (Christina Ricci) barely has time to warm up her electric chair before Thing points out Fester’s uncommonly “normal” behavior. Could this Fester be a fake and part of an evil scheme to raid the Addams fortune?”
Meanwhile, the 1993 sequel The Addams Family Values is already on Netflix now.
