A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge star Mark Patton tells his story in the documentary Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street, and we’ve learned that the documentary’s soundtrack (composed by Alexander Taylor) has been re-repressed on vinyl.
Coinciding with the Blu-ray release from Vinegar Syndrome, 1984 Publishing has re-released Alexander Taylor’s soundtrack for the Shudder Original documentary Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street with some noticeable upgrades.
Still featuring the iconic cover from Matt Ryan Tobin, the 2022 release debuts gatefold artwork by Travis Falligant. Available in the original “Hot Pink” as well as a new “Blue Swirl” variant containing 18 tracks composed by Alexander Taylor, plus the song “Split Second” by Skeleton Head.
“I can’t express just how much it means that people are responding to the soundtrack. It’s every musician’s dream to have their work pressed on vinyl, so the fact that the original run sold out quickly AND we’re doing a second pressing is very humbling,” said Alexander Taylor.
Mark Patton added, “This news is as perfect as the young man who created the music. The Scream-Queen-Team has absolutely no doubt that Alex will land at the top of show business. My advice is to buy one, listen to it as a stand alone album, and let the soundtrack wash over you. It really is fantastic.”
“Tyler and I knew we wanted a synthwave score to accompany the film- Modern but reflective of the 1980s. Alex delivered exactly that. The best part is that he interpreted what we needed often without a conversation- and in the end we were totally thrilled. He combined both eras beautifully- it truly feels like it belongs on the shelf in between the Dream Master soundtrack and the new Timecop1983 album. We specifically mixed and mastered these tracks to sound killer on vinyl so rip it up!” Scream, Queen! director Roman Chimienti tells us.
