While Illfonic’s Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is still a ways off, Vaulted Sky Games’s Midnight Ghost Hunt has recently announced a March 31 launch date for PC. And on top of that, Midnight Ghost Hunt has had a new trailer debut at the Future Games Show.
The new trailer carries over that cinematic look of the previous trailer, but is a whole lot longer, setting up a conflict with the Ghosts and the Hunters. It almost makes you wish you had Ray Parker Jr. blasting in the background once things get going, but we’ll save that for Illfonic.
Midnight Ghost Hunt is a 4v4 co-op game, where a group of four Ghost Hunters are assigned to clear out a series of haunted locations. Countering them is a group of four players who play as the Ghosts. The Hunters have their ghostbusting equipment at their disposal, while those who play as the Ghosts have the ability to hide inside pieces of furniture to escape being caught. The Ghosts can then go on the offensive with telekinetic bombardment of the Hunters, aka throwing stuff at them.
As you play, players will be able to select Perks for both the Hunters and Ghosts that will potentially give you the edge in your fight. Ghosts can become untrappable or extend their range of possession, while Hunters can gain the ability for increased speed or a healing aura to help ailing players.
Midnight Ghost Hunt can be wishlisted now on Steam.
