Oscar-nominated musician/composer Danny Elfman was on hand at Coachella over the weekend, and as part of his set he performed “This Is Halloween” live on stage.
“This Is Halloween” was of course first heard in 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, the most iconic song Danny Elfman contributed to the movie’s soundtrack.
Elfman took the stage at Coachella on Saturday, April 16th, and he also played tracks from Spider-Man, Edward Scissorhands, and Batman, along with “The Simpsons” theme song.
Reviewing the show, Kevin E G Perry writes for The Independent, “Elfman’s booking was undoubtedly a gamble, but it’s one that pays off many times over. He’s an artist with an impressive, varied and well-known back catalogue, but one who’s a long way from typical festival heritage acts.
“Saturday night’s performance delivered many sides of Danny Elfman – from the eerie and macabre to the lighthearted and eccentric – while giving Coachella the best of both worlds.”
