We could always use another first-person shooter that has you stomping around and blowing away demons. Developer Kruger & Flint Productions certainly think so with their recently-announced demonic FPS Bloodhound, which is aiming for release later this year for PC via Steam and the Xbox consoles, with a 2023 release for the PlayStation consoles.
Created and developed by some of the folks behind Dying Light 2, the upcoming Witchfire and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, Bloodhound is a throwback to classic 90s FPS games in a modern era. The game puts you in the role of a member of a secret faction of the Templar Order, whose goal is to stop the cult of Astaroth after they summon demons to wreak havoc on Earth in preparation for the arrival of their dark lord.
Players will be armed with an arsenal of goodies that includes a machete, double-barreled shotgun, rocket launcher, a chainsaw with a flamethrower, a railgun and more. You’ll be kicking ass through a campaign made up of 4 acts, facing off against 15 types of enemies, and culminating in a boss fight for each act. The developers are also planning a multiplayer component for the final version of Bloodhound.
“[Bloodhound] is a game created out of passion – the kind we would like to play,” explains Rafał “Flint” Krzemiński, CEO of Kruger & Flint Productions. “It’s brutal, it’s intense and there’s blood. It’s all served in a heavy, horror reminiscent atmosphere. Our main inspirations were Doom, Quake and Painkiller, but we also reached the work of Zdzisław Beksiński, rich in decay centric pieces and apocalyptic motives.”
At the moment, you can check out the free demo for the shooter on Steam. Bloodhound also has a Kickstarter going to get over that one last hurdle for funding, so if you’re keen on helping to unleash hell on Hell’s denizens, you’ve got your chance.
