What makes you smile? Paramount Players’ Smile, from writer/director Parker Finn, poses this question in a new mysterious teaser trailer playing in theaters ahead of Top Gun: Maverick and now David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future.
Not much is known about the eerie movie so far, except that it’s slated for release on September 30.
The plot follows “a doctor whose mind begins to turn on her after she witnesses a traumatic event that involves a patient.”
The film’s official Twitter account shared a condensed version of the enigmatic teaser, below. The slightly longer theatrical version sees a woman pass a man, frozen with a fixed grin, on a hospital bed. She leans in to examine him to no avail. He’s not the only one with an incredibly creepy smile, either.
Smile stars Sosie Bacon (“Scream” TV), Jesse T Usher (“The Boys”), Kal Penn, Rob Morgan (“Stranger Things”), Kyle Gallner (Scream 2022), and Caitlin Stasey (All Cheerleaders Die).
Temple Hill is producing.
The full Smile trailer, per the teaser, is coming soon.
