Originally announced earlier this year, Deadline reports today that Keanu Reeves has now officially signed on to star in Hulu‘s serial killer drama series, “The Devil in the White City.”
The project has also officially been given a series order by Hulu this week.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese will executive produce “The Devil in the White City” for Hulu, a series based on Erik Larson’s book about serial killer H.H. Holmes.
“The Devil in the White City” tells the true story of two men, an architect and a serial killer, whose fates were forever linked by The Chicago World’s Fair of 1893.
“The players are Daniel H. Burnham, a brilliant and fastidious architect racing to mark his mark on the world and Henry H. Holmes, a handsome and cunning doctor who fashioned his own pharmaceutical “Murder Castle” on the fair grounds.”
Sam Shaw is writing and will serve as showrunner, with Todd Field directing.
Paramount Television Studios will produce the series for Hulu, with executive producers also including Stacey Sher, Rick Yorn, Emma Koskoff, and Jennifer Davisson.
As you may recall, Erik Larson’s book was at one point going to take the form of a feature film adaptation, with Leonardo DiCaprio starring and Martin Scorsese directing.
