Previously planned for release later this year in that anomalous Q4 range, 110 Industries and developer Soleil have announced that their upcoming sci-fi action slasher Wanted: Dead will now be headed for release next February. Currently in development for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC via Steam, Wanted: Dead will now release on February 14, 2023.
No reason was given for the shift, but at least we get a new trailer out of the deal, courtesy of IGN. Featuring a mix of anime and CG, the game’s mix of cyberpunk and bloody action is matched up perfectly with the 80s overtones of the soundtrack.
From members of the team that worked on Ninja Gaiden, Wanted: Dead is a hybrid slasher/shooter that follows a week in life of the Zombie Unit, an elite Hong Kong police squad on a mission to uncover a major corporate conspiracy. You play as Lt. Hannah Stone, a hardboiled Hong Kong cop who must slash her way through mercenaries, gang members and private military contractors in order to uncover a major corporate conspiracy.
In addition to using your sword to slice up foes with over 80 unique finishing moves, you’ve also got your standard array of guns, including assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs and grenade launchers. This is all set against a cyberpunk backdrop that features advanced weaponry and “lo-tech 90s retro futurism”.
