The good news? “The Umbrella Academy” has been renewed for a fourth season by Netflix this week. The bad news? The fourth season will be the popular show’s FINAL season.
“I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey we began five years ago,” said showrunner Steve Blackman. “But before we get to that conclusion, we’ve got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes.”
Returning for Season 4 are Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore.
In the Steve Blackman-created series, which kicked off in 2019, “A family of former child heroes, now grown apart, must reunite to continue to protect the world.”
The Netflix series is based on the Dark Horse Comics series from Gerard Way.
The third season of “The Umbrella Academy” just premiered this past June. In total, the series has received six Emmy nominations and enjoyed critical acclaim up to this point.
