Netflix has decided to jump back into video games with the Stranger Things license again, this time announcing Stranger Things VR, which will launch for “major virtual reality platforms” in Winter 2023.
Developed by Tender Claws, details on the game are slim, but Stranger Things VR will have you playing as Vecna seeking revenge on Eleven and Hawkins. The announcement states that you’ll become an “explorer of unknown realities as you form the hive mind and tame the void.” You’ll also be able to invade minds and conjure nightmares in your quest for revenge.
Meanwhile, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things won’t arrive until 2024. However, the name of the first episode of the new season has been revealed.
As to the question of if we’ll see additional games after the series wraps up, you can point to The Duffer Brothers when they say, “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes.”
And if you’re still looking to get your Stranger Things video game fix, you can always revisit Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game, both of which are currently on Netflix Games, which launched last year.
