The John Wick Cinematic Universe is getting its first spinoff movie with Ballerina, and Deadline revealed today that “The Walking Dead” beloved zombie slayer Norman Reedus has joined an already stacked cast.
Ana de Armas is leading the cast of Ballerina, and we recently learned that both Ian McShane and Keanu Reeves will be appearing in the movie in some capacity.
Angelica Huston played The Director in John Wick: Chapter 3, the head of the Ruska Roma crime organization who trains both assassins and ballerinas, and will also appear in the spinoff.
Len Wiseman (Underworld, “Swamp Thing”) is directing the spinoff film, now in production. Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3) wrote the new movie’s script.
“Ballerina focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.”
Reedus previously appeared as fan favorite character Daryl Dixon in 174 episodes of “The Walking Dead.” The actor will reprise the role for a spinoff devoted entirely to his character, titled “Daryl Dixon.”
The Shay Hatten-scripted movie is currently shooting. Producers are Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski.
John Wick: Chapter 4, meanwhile, will release on March 24, 2023.
