If you’re hungry for more Resident Evil for VR, Capcom is happy to oblige with the announcement that Resident Evil Village will be hitting the PlayStation VR2 next year. That’s good news for existing owners, as the VR2 version will be free!
Resident Evil Village will launch for the PS VR2 on February 22, 2023 as a free DLC for those users who own either Resident Evil Village or Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.
The new VR Mode supports the entire Village campaign, taking “full advantage” of the advanced features of the PS VR2’s headset. VR Mode utilizes the 4K HDR display, eye tracking, and 3D audio “to make ” more realistic and intense than ever.” And yes, you will feel truly dwarfed by Lady Dimitrescu.
Thanks to the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, players will be able to use Ethan’s hands to perform intuitive actions in-game. For example, players can hold up their arms to guard against enemies that get too close. Weapons also feel tangibly more realistic in VR Mode, coupled with new gameplay elements such as dual wielding and natural motion controls for reloading firearms and brandishing knives give aim to give Village a whole new level of immersion.
Resident Evil Village is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. And in case you missed it, check out our review of the recent Winters’ Expansion DLC.
