The second season of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” will premiere on March 24, 2023 – with a third season already ordered – and Variety reports that Jason Ritter will guest star in Season 2.
Ritter, who of course starred in Freddy vs. Jason nearly 20 years ago, is the husband of “Yellowjackets” actress Melanie Lynskey, who will be back in the upcoming second season.
The series was created by Ashley Lyle & Bart Nickerson (“Narcos”), described as being “equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama.”
“Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.”
Recently announced, Lauren Ambrose (“Servant”) is playing adult Van in Season 2. And Simone Kessell (“Obi-Wan”) is playing the adult version of Lottie.
Elijah Wood will play Walter in Season 2, a dedicated citizen detective who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she won’t see coming.
Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Juliette Lewis star.
