Killer Collectibles highlights five of the most exciting new horror products released each and every week, from toys and apparel to artwork, records, and much more.
Here are the coolest horror collectibles unveiled this week!
The Menu Blu-ray from Searchlight Pictures
The Menu was one of the best surprises of the year; I went in knowing nothing about it and was pleasantly surprised to find a darkly hilarious horror-thriller. If you missed it, it’s coming to Digital on January 3 followed by Blu-ray and DVD on January 17 via Searchlight Pictures.
Mark Mylod (Ali G Indahouse, Succession) directs from a script by Seth Reiss (Late Night with Seth Meyers) and Will Tracy (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver). The fantastic ensemble includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Ralph Fiennes, Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, and John Leguizamo.
No 4K UHD is planned, unfortunately, but at least we get special features: a three-part making-of featurette with cast and crew along with three deleted scenes.
The Misfits Action Figure from NECA
The Misfits’ legendary Fiend mascot is receiving the ultimate action figure treatment from NECA. Due out in July, the 7″ toy is available to pre-order for $34.99.
Three interchangeable heads (including one based on Basil Gogos’ artwork), two interchangeable hands, three classic Misfits records (Horror Business, Die Die My Darling, and Earth A.D.), two daggers, and a candelabra are included. It’s packaged in a window box with opening flap.
Be a star with A24’s Pearl enamel pin. Designer Jen Lewis captures Mia Goth’s instantly iconic, tear-shedding smile from the X prequel. Priced at $10, it measures 1”.
Terminator 2 Print by Jim’ll Paint It
Perhaps you’ve heard that James Cameron made a new movie, but to me Terminator 2: Judgment Day remains the gold standard for cinematic spectacle. I’m also forever in awe of Jim’ll Paint it, who creates intricate artwork using an archaic version of Windows Paint!
His latest piece is a stained glass-style tribute to Terminator 2. It’s available on A3 size prints for £32.50 (approx. $40), A2 size prints for £37.50 (approx. $46), and A1 size prints for £55 (approx. $67), along with T-shirts for £24 (approx. $29).
Girls Make Movies Book from Running Press Kids
Do you have a kid who’s interested making movies but doesn’t know where to start? Look no further than Girls Make Movies: A Follow-Your-Own-Path Guide for Aspiring Young Filmmakers, which will be published on February 7.
It puts readers in the driver’s seat as they create a fictitious zombie blockbuster and are guided through each stage of production and learn about the processes, techniques, and people involved in making a Hollywood hit.
Coming to hardcover and e-book via Running Press Kids, the 144-page nonfiction book is written by Mallory O’Meara (The Lady from the Black Lagoon) and illustrated by Jen Vaughn.
