It’s almost time to board the Ishimura and face the horrors within in Motive Studios’ Dead Space remake. To get you psyched for the game (as if you weren’t already), publisher Electronic Arts has released the launch trailer for the Dead Space remake ahead of its January 27th release.
It’s interesting to compare the trailer for the remake with the 2008 original’s launch trailer, as both hit similar beats, but the remake’s trailer feels more “epic”. Still, there’s plenty of Necromorph action to keep you sated.
In addition to the launch trailer, Motive has dropped a new “Inside Dead Space” blog entry that explains the need for a good story in a game like this. Coincidentally, the blog entry goes along with yesterday’s item regarding the remake’s changes and updates to the original Dead Space story.
You all know the story by now: Isaac Clarke is an everyman engineer on a mission to repair the USG Ishimura, only to discover something has gone horribly wrong. The ship’s crew has been slaughtered and Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole, is lost somewhere on board.
Completely rebuilt from the ground up to offer a deeper and more immersive experience, the Dead Space remake by Motive Studios is touted as bringing jaw-dropping visual fidelity and suspenseful atmospheric audio, as well as offering new gameplay content and improvements while staying faithful to the original game’s vision.
Dead Space will arrive for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
