In addition to the franchise’s first television series, The Conjuring is also expanding with a fourth movie in the mainline series, and the official title has been revealed today.
The upcoming feature film sequel is titled The Conjuring: Last Rites.
Last we heard, The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It scribe David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be writing the next entry in the Conjuring series.
Also returning to produce are franchise mainstays James Wan and Peter Safran.
The Conjuring films are based on the real-life case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively.
No word yet on whether or not they’ll be returning. Stay tuned.
There are currently seven films in The Conjuring universe — The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The eighth film, The Nun 2, is coming later this year.
