Console fans will soon be able to enjoy Torture Star Video and developer Marevo Collective’s surreal Lovecraftian adventure game No One Lives Under The Lighthouse. Previously released on Steam, the slow burn retro title will arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and the Nintendo Switch on May 18th.
In something that’s as close to Robert Eggers‘ The Lighthouse in video game form as you’ll get (for now), the story goes that you arrive at the old lighthouse on a small island near the coast of the United States. After the previous keeper went missing, you need to take over his duties and watch after the light. A member of the Establishment told you they’ll get you an assistant after a week or two, but for the moment you’re on your own… or at least you think you are.
No One Lives Under The Lighthouse sports that retro aesthetic in its graphics, making the isolation on the island that much more palpable. Focusing on atmosphere, the game features 1 to 2 hours of playtime for single walkthrough, with three possible endings. The PC version later revamped most of the late-game content, completely changing the 2nd hour of the game and tweaking things for the early part of the game.
Pre-orders for No One Lives Under The Lighthouse are available now digitally through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and the Nintendo eShop for $11.99.
