If Games Workshop’s upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun hasn’t got you excited yet for old-school FPS gameplay, then the latest trailer should fix that. Sure, the new trailer has that over-the-top cheese to it, but darn it, you have a frickin’ boltgun, and it’s hungry for some pixelated blood.
The new gameplay trailer for Boltgun sets up the story nicely: you’ll take control of a Sternguard Veteran, along with his faithful servo-skull, and plunge headlong into the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000. Summoned by the Inquisition, you must ready your righteous arsenal, indomitable armor and battle-honed instincts and head to Scour Graia, a Forge World on the brink, overrun by cultists, traitors and daemons.
Obliterate hordes of foes with an array of iconic weapons. Blast cultists with your mighty Boltgun! Smash traitors with your Charge! Shred the spawn of the Archenemy with your Chainsword! Unleash your wrath upon the enemies of the Imperium – only in death does duty end!
Published by Focus Entertainment and developed by Auroch Digital, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun arrives May 23 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are available now with a 10% discount on the Steam version.
