It looks as though we won’t have to wait for this year’s Summer Game Fest for NetherRealm Studios’ reveal of the next Mortal Kombat entry. After teasing fans last week, Ed Boon and company are set to unveil what they’ve been cooking up tomorrow!
Once again, the official Mortal Kombat YouTube page has posted a cryptic video, once again showing a clock. This time, the clock is stuck at one. The glass shatters, with the date and time of the reveal fading in: May 18 at 6am PT/ 9am ET.
To add a bit more intrigue, the YouTube page and Twitter page headers along with the Mortal Kombat logo have all gone ghostly white, with a hint of something being there. Trying to work my Photoshop magic hasn’t resulted in anything, so NetherRealm are keeping things close to the chest.
Once again, will we be seeing a return to an alternate timeline involving the first tournament, or will we see a continuation of the events of Mortal Kombat 11? Or, is Ed Boon going to pull another one on us, giving us a title reveal for the next Mortal Kombat, while saving the big news for Summer Games Fest? We’ll just have to wait and see.
