The Greyhill Incident landed not too long ago, but if you’re still hankering for alien abduction games, DEKLAZON’s They Are Here: Alien Abduction Horror looks to help satisfy that itch. Heading to Steam next year, you can currently try out a demo for the indie-developed first-person survival horror title.
Created by a husband and wife team (couples who make games together stay together, after all), the premise for They Are Here: Alien Abduction Horror centres on unexplained phenomena surrounding the Grayswood Farm. The owners of the farm, the Sherman family, witnessed usual bright lights moving in the sky over the course of five days. Add to that the animals acting strangely, and the hints of the Greys showing up at night. You play as journalist Taylor Fox, who travels to Grayswood Farm to get the story for a local newspaper. Obviously, things take a turn for the worse once night falls.
Gameplay consists of doing your journalistic duties of taking pictures, while also doing a bit of research on the Sherman family. You’ll also be trekking around at night to get more information, but luckily you’ll have your flashlight with you. Though that probably won’t be of much use when you start seeing figures that don’t quite look human.
Meanwhile, the demo functions as a prologue to the events of what happened at the Grayswood Farm. In this case, you play as Private Michael Anderson, who works at a military base near Grayswood Farm. By happenstance, he becomes a witness to some close encounters that aren’t exactly friendly.
