Bokeh Game Studio took a bit of a break from working on Slitterhead to release a new developer diary video for the still-in-development horror title. This time around, the video takes a look at recent user tests (or playtests, if you prefer) for Slitterhead, which also includes new in-game footage.
The video kicks off with Bokeh’s Project Manager, Takuro Konno, talking about his role at the studio, which also includes conducting user tests. “Getting real opinions helps define whether the response is what development had in mind,” explains Konno.
Given what kind of game Slitterhead is hoping to become, the topic of stress during user tests is important. “We analyze whether stress is provoked intentionally to prepare a feeling of achievement afterwards,” says Konno. “The team is very receptive to these results and actively participates in the though process for the next steps.”
Interspersed with footage of the players are glimpses of Slitterhead in action. And while the beginning of the video made sure to let viewers know that this is pre-alpha footage of the game in action, the glimpses of footage shown appear to show the game coming together nicely. And for you Stray fans, it appears that you’ll even be able to play as a cat for a segment of the game!
That being said, we still don’t have a release date for Slitterhead, which is currently still in development for PC and consoles. The game, which is being touted as a spiritual successor to Silent Hill, takes place in “an original setting” that draws upon the Seinen manga culture in Japan, and sees you battling mysterious creatures that can mimic humans.
