Officially announced yesterday, Godzilla Minus One is the title of the next Japanese Godzilla movie from Toho, and we’ve now got a full reveal of the brand new redesign.
Godzilla Minus One is the first Japanese-produced Godzilla movie since Shin Godzilla back in 2016, and it’s first debuting in theaters over in Japan on November 3, 2023.
Godzilla then returns to theaters in the United States on December 1, 2023.

“Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus One will once again show us a Godzilla that is a terrifying and overwhelming force, which you already get a sense of from the teaser trailer and poster,” Koji Ueda, President of Toho International, said in a statement this week.
The statement continued, “The concept is that Japan, which had already been devastated by the war, faces a new threat with Godzilla, bringing the country into the ‘minus.’”
As we learned last year, Takashi Yamazaki (Lupin III: The First) is directing the new movie, which will be the 30th live action film in Toho’s long-running kaiju franchise.
Just launched earlier this month, Pluto TV is now streaming a 24/7 Godzilla Channel, which features a wealth of classic movies including films you won’t find on any other platform!
