We’ve had fans remake portions of classic horror games in Unreal over the years, so why not add another to the list? This time around, we’re headed back to Monolith’s classic horror FPS shooter Blood, with Bifurator Studio having released Unreal Blood Project, a demo of Blood in Unreal Engine 5.
Touted as “an experimental project”, the demo presents what a modern remake of Blood could potentially look like, featuring the opening area outside of Morningside Cemetery. Admittedly, there’s not much to do with the demo, other than walk around and interact with some objects, but it looks amazing.
Sadly, the modder doesn’t plan on building this demo into a full-fledged remake of Blood, but it does get you thinking. Despite Nightdive giving us a great remaster with Blood: Fresh Supply back in 2019, there were still a few bugs/inaccuracies about that remaster that left it from being perfect.
Frustratingly, what prevents Nightdive from going back and fixing those issues would more than likely prevent a fully 3D remake of Blood: the rights situation. So once again, the community would have to rely on fan-based projects to get the job done.
If you’re keen on checking out this Blood demo yourself, head on over to ModDB.
Big thanks to DSOGaming for the heads up on this one.
