Why Not AI and Touched by Grace have announced a time-limited demo for their upcoming horror visual novel RPG HPL: Nyarlathotep Rising. The demo will be available during the Visual Novel Festival on Steam, which kicks off today, and will last until August 14th.
In addition to the demo, the press release also narrowed the official release date for HPL: Nyarlathotep Rising to early November 2023.
“We are excited to offer players a preview into the world of HPL: Nyarlathotep Rising with our demo during the Visual Novel Festival on Steam,” said Jean-Martial Lefranc, CEO at Why Not AI. “We believe the game offers a unique approach into the Lovecraft universe – still, we need to hear back from as many testers as possible in order to improve their experience before the official release.”
Set amidst the fallout of a world shaken by the Wall Street crash of 1929, Nyarlathotep Rising sees you taking control of one of three people, each has different psychic predispositions about the world around them. You must guide them physically and psychologically through the upcoming turmoil, as cultists seek the rebirth of Nyarlathotep. Your decisions drive both the fate of your current character’s destiny, and that of the two other characters who evolve alongside you.
And, if you’re keen on checking out other horror titles that will be hosting demos during the Visual Novel Festival, you can also check out Party for Introverts’ vampire RPG Cabernet.
