Announced back in July, IguanaBee’s Skull Island: Rise of Kong now has a release date. And you’ll never guess just when the game drops. Yes, according to the new release date trailer, Skull Island: Rise of Kong will be joining the stuffed month of October with an October 17 release for consoles and PC.
The game sees you assume the role of Kong himself on a journey of vengeance as you fight to claim your rightful place as King of Skull Island. After the death of his parents at the hands of the saurian terror Gaw, Kong must traverse the mysterious island and uncover its secrets across a variety of treacherous environments, discovering the power coursing through its exotic flora and fauna. You must conquer waves of primal beasts, defeat bosses, and rise above all who stand in your way to become King.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong will be available in two editions: the $39.99 standard edition, and a digital deluxe “Colossal Edition” for $49.99. The latter includes eight exclusive film grains featuring the ability to experience a red-tinted rage mode and the original look of the classic 1933 and 1970s-era King Kong films, the “Kong style pack” with eight different colors so you can choose your own Kong, a boss-rush mode allowing you to defeat all the titans of Skull Island, and a behind-the-scenes exclusive pack including looks at in-game artwork and the all-original orchestral soundtrack.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong is currently in development for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
