It’s been years in the making, but Hekate’s long-awaited WWI psychological horror game Ad Infinitum is finally out today on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series. Completing a journey that began way back in 2015 is the launch trailer for Ad Infinitum.
Is he dead or alive? Is he in the trenches, or at the family home? Ad Infinitum centres around the horror of a German soldier stuck in the trenches during The Great War, trapped between two realities. Throughout the adventure, the character is engaged in an internal battle to untangle reality from imagination, through which the player can uncover the story of this German family, and the deep scars left by the war over several generations.
Flashing between your bedroom in a run-down and deserted manor house and the trenches, through exploration and by solving riddles and puzzles between the walls of your home and the barbed wire of No Man’s Land, you ultimately reveal a chapter in the story of a German family torn apart by war.
If you want to go the extra mile, there’s also the Supporter/Nightmare Edition of Ad Infinitum, depending on which platform you choose. This includes the base game, alongside a digital artbook and a digital copy of the soundtrack.
