It’s the first full week of November 2023, and with Halloween in the rear view, it’s only natural that the new horror releases will be slowing down a bit. But horror never truly sleeps.
Here’s all the new horror releasing November 7 – November 12, 2023!

The Adams Family debuted on the scene with The Deeper You Dig and returned last year for Shudder’s Hellbender. Up next from the family – and yes, they are indeed a real family – is Where the Devil Roams, and it’s now available on VOD outlets beginning today.
“Set during Depression-era America, Where the Devil Roams follows a family of murderous sideshow performers as they travel the dying carnival circuit.”
Toby Poser, Zelda Adams, and John Adams star in the film, as well as write and direct.
There haven’t been all that many Loch Ness Monster horror movies over the years, but Uncork’d brings a new one to the table with The Loch Ness Horror this week.
The film is now available on VOD platforms.
“Fans of The Meg and Tremors will definitely want to check out The Loch Ness Horror when we release later this year,” said Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment. “This one has some great special effects and some superbly thrilling sequences.”
In the film, “A submarine vanishing prompts a rescue operation that comes face to face with the cause–The Loch Ness Monster. Having escaped the Loch, it is now unleashing decades of pent-up aggression on all those it encounters. In a fight for survival, our team of rescue operatives must overcome the terrors both beneath them and within their ranks.”
The Loch Ness Horror stars Becca Hirani, May Kelly, Matthew Baunsgard, Lila Lasso, Tara MacGowran, Beatrice Fletcher, Giedre Jackyte, Mike Kelson and Howard J. Dave.
Tyler James wrote and directed the creature feature.
Director David Fincher and writer Andrew Kevin Walker joined forces for Se7en back in the ’90s, and they reunite for this year’s brand new Netflix thriller The Killer.
The Killer will premiere only on Netflix on Friday, November 10.
In The Killer, “After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers and himself on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.”
The brand new movie will adapt Alexis Nolent‘s same-titled series of graphic novels, with Andrew Kevin Walker scripting and David Fincher directing.
Michael Fassbender, Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Sophie Charlotte and Tilda Swinton star.
Slasher classic Scream and holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life get tossed into a blender in It’s a Wonderful Knife, which comes to theaters beginning Friday, November 10.
The Christmas slasher comes from writer Michael Kennedy (Freaky) and director Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls). Every time a bell rings, The Angel gets to kill…
The story is set in idyllic Angel Falls. A year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers’ life is less than wonderful — but when she wishes she’d never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe and discovers that without her, things could be much, much worse. Now the killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and get back to her own reality.
It’s a Wonderful Knife stars Jane Widdop (“Yellowjackets”) in the lead role of ‘Winnie Carruthers’, with Joel McHale (“Community”) set to play Winnie’s father ‘David’ and Justin Long (Barbarian) playing the town’s patron ‘Mr Waters’. Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps), Jess McLeod (One of Us Is Lying) and Cassandra Naud (Influencer) also star.
Traditions die hard in the upcoming holiday horror movie There’s Something in the Barn, which will be released in select territories on Friday, November 10.
Stay tuned for wide release information here in the States.
In the film from director Magnus Martens, “An American family fulfills their dream of returning to their roots after inheriting a remote cabin in the mountains of Norway. However, they are in for a big surprise. An elf with a nasty temper lives in the house’s barn. When the family starts to infuriate the creature, a raw and bloody struggle for survival ensues.”
Martin Starr, Amrita Acharia, and Jeppe Beck Laursen star in the Norwegian horror movie. Aleksander Kirkwood Brown wrote the screenplay.
“Barn elves are deeply rooted in Norwegian folklore and tradition. They are in our souls and part of our culture. Making a movie about a foreign family who do not understand them, then annoys the hell out of them and then must fight them, makes perfect sense. The only weird thing about it is that it hasn’t been done before,” Martens said in a statement.
“I love Christmas movies as much as anyone else and having two kids, I have watched them all over the years around the holidays. But what all of us really seem to miss is a movie that has a new, fresh, and original approach, without losing the classic Christmas spirit. I truly believe that There’s Something in the Barn is what people are looking for.”
Up next from genre mainstay Nicolas Cage is the A24 movie Dream Scenario, which Meagan Navarro described in her review for Bloody Disgusting as a “nightmare comedy.”
From director Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself), A24’s Dream Scenario will first release in select theaters on Friday, November 10, 2023. In Dream Scenario…
“A hapless family man Paul Matthews (Cage) finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom.”
Julianne Nicholson, Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, Michael Cera, Dylan Gelula and Tim Meadows also star in Dream Scenario.
The film is produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg, and Jacob Jaffke, Tyler Campellone and A24.
Meagan writes in her Dream Scenario review out of TIFF, “[the film] makes for a brisk and frequently amusing spin on the Freddy Krueger-type for a modern, terminally online world.”
And finally, the A24-produced Showtime Original Series “The Curse” is also worth mentioning, as it’s said to be “genre-busting” and will premiere on Friday, November 10.
From what we understand, the series will premiere on Showtime on November 12, but you’ll be able to stream it on Paramount+ With Showtime beginning November 10.
Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder, and Benny Safdie star in the mysterious dark comedy series.
The series explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show.
Guest stars include Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, Emmy® nominee Corbin Bernsen, and Constance Shulman.
“The Curse” is co-created and executive produced by Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder, who also serves as a director. Emma Stone executive produces alongside Dave McCary and Ali Herting through their Fruit Tree banner. Josh Safdie also serves as executive producer.
