If you’ve been keeping an eye on SFB Games’ Crow Country, you’ll be pleased to know that the devs have released a time-limited demo for Steam Next Fest. The 30-minute demo tasks players with finding and shooting all 15 of the hidden crystal crows as they face the horrors that dwell within the depths of the abandoned theme park.
Set to launch on Steam and PlayStation later this year, Crow Country takes place in the year 1990. It’s been two years since the mysterious disappearance of Edward Crow and the abrupt closure of his theme park, the eponymous Crow Country. You are Mara Forest, and you’re searching for some answers from Crow. To do so, you’ll need to survive this atmospheric blend of tension and tranquility, where as you progress, you gradually piece together why Edward really shut down his park, and to where he mysteriously disappeared.
Sporting more than a few old-school Survival Horror aesthetics, both in its graphics and its gameplay, Crow Country will have you solving puzzles to unlock new areas of the park. You’ll also be doing some backtracking, as well as managing limited resources including ammo and items. As you might expect, you’ll need to make every bullet count, but you’ll also face the decision of whether to fight or avoid combat to survive.
And if things are too hectic for you, there’s always the Exploration Mode that allows you to journey on without the fear of being attacked by monsters.
Look for Crow Country later this year.
