The classic story of Alice in Wonderland can easily be tweaked into a horror tale, and that’s probably why it’s been done several times over the years. Up next is the indie horror movie Alice in Terrorland, which High Fliers Films just released on VOD and DVD today.
In Richard John Taylor’s Alice in Terrorland, “A recently bereaved teenage girl goes to live with her aunt in a secluded woodland house, unaware that sinister forces lurk within.”
Rula Lenska, Steve Wraith, Jon-Paul Gates, and Rikki Kimpton star.
After an experimental drug trial goes awry, the test subjects face a terrifying side effect: if you fall asleep, you die. Epic Pictures released their new movie Double Blind on VOD today.
“Trapped in an isolated facility, panic ensues as the test subjects try to stay awake.”
Double Blind comes from director Ian Hunt-Duffy and writer Darach McGarrigle.
Pollyanna McIntosh, Millie Brady and Akshay Kumar star.
Gravitas Ventures’ latest, Cellphone highlights the perils and horror of technology surrounding the piece of tech we rely on most: our phones. It’s on VOD and Digital now.
In Cellphone, “Wynne, who is grieving the death of her fiancé, starts seeing disturbing images on her cell phone about her future. If she doesn’t figure them out in time, she will die.”
Whitney Rose Pynn, Justin Malik Jackson, Jared Noble, Isaac Versaw, and Katherine Barber star alongside Malcolm McDowell in the tech thriller.
The tech thriller was written by Rachel Sommer and directed by Luke Sommer, based on their 2012 short film “Cell Phone.” Cellphone marks the feature debut for both.
From Gravitas Ventures, director Kyle Kleege’s Earworm also hit VOD today.
In the film, “Henry Adams, a socially awkward man seeking help for his condition accepts an invitation to a self-help group that is more than it seems. Danger is around every corner as Henry goes deeper into the treatment. Meanwhile, Detective Williams investigates a series of strange murders that has too many similarities to not be connected.
“Following the clues he stumbles across more than he bargained for.”
Richard Lounello, Evan Jones, and John Romeo star.
“You can either make the meal… or be the meal.” Breaking Glass Pictures also has a new horror movie this week, with Alice and The Vampire Queen now available on VOD outlets.
Directed by Dan Lantz, and starring Shelby Hightower, Graham Wolfe, Brenna Carnuccio, Rachel Aspen, Danielle Muehlen, Xavier Michael, Chris James Boylan, and Aaron Dalla Villa, the film fixes on an ex-con who struggles to overcome her past scars.
A stranger offers her a deal: create one special dish for the Vampire Queen.
The film, produced by Dan Lantz, Richard Wolff, and Susan Helfrich, is said to “explore themes of resilience, transformation, and the power of choice as Alice confronts not only the external threats posed by the supernatural forces at play but also the internal demons she must conquer to forge her path to redemption.”
