Those of you who caught the DreadXP Indie Horror Game Showcase last October saw the reveal of Stroboskop’s Sylvio: Black Waters, the third game in the Sylvio series. Well, DreadXP has announced that Sylvio: Black Waters will be launching later this month on July 25 on Steam for $12.99, and have released a new trailer to mark the occasion.
Touted as a “glorious return to form” for the series, Sylvio: Black Waters is a first-person exploration adventure with a horror atmosphere. You are alone in an unfamiliar land that’s very similar to Earth, but somehow not quite right. You discover a mysterious device that seems to let you listen to the spirits of those who once inhabited this world. The device picks up the voice of a man named Lee, who claims to be the last survivor on this planet. A trail of clues leads you into the pitch darkness at the heart of this world, where answers about the past, and your possible future, may lie.
Black Waters brings with it new mechanics in a physics-defying and puzzle-filled experience that aims to thrill fans of the series, as well as newcomers looking for a standalone chilling adventure. Along with the physics-bending gameplay in a world of changing gravity, you’ll need to decipher audio-based puzzles, as well as decode video recordings to uncover clues. You’re not the only one in this land, however. The dead inhabitants of this world don’t take too kindly to strangers. Luckily, you’ll be able to fight them off with air-powered weaponry.
