In spite of the last-minute hiccups with Steam, IndieGala’s Survival Horror game Vorax is out now in Early Access. Not only have the developers released Vorax with a 10% discount until August 10, but they’ve also released the Early Access roadmap, detailing upcoming updates for the game during its stay in the service.
The new content detailed in the roadmap will be rolled out gradually, adding over 12 hours of gameplay, with extra content potentially being developed based on community requests. “Our objective is to expand the game’s world, deepen the story, and introduce new challenges to test your survival skills.”
Among the content that will be added during Early Access are new objectives. One objective will have you rescuing the president’s son from a new School area, while another has you facing off against a new boss in the Electrical Power Plant. Other areas to be introduced include the Sanctuary, where you’ll be introduced to one of the game’s largest creatures, and the Olive Factory, which holds critical resources and “intense encounters.”
The further updates will include new weapons, various enhancements and optimizations to gameplay and performance, new crafting options, and new secrets for players to uncover.
As mentioned, IndieGala is encouraging community feedback during Early Access with these new additions to refine them and to “[ensure] the best possible experience.”
Vorax is set on a Mediterranean island that’s been besieged by a mysterious pathogen that’s turned the local populace into horrifying monsters. An army battalion sent to quarantine the population has predictably lost all communication. As a merc sent to investigate, your helicopter crashes on the island, stranding you with low supplies. You’ll need to craft tools, build barricades, fences, and traps as well as find, upgrade, and maintain your shelter to survive while trying to discover the origins of the virus.
