Ahead of Kong: Survivor Instinct launching next week, developer 7LEVELS has given us a peek at the gameplay for the action platformer. Courtesy of IGN, the video shows off 15 minutes of gameplay from the beginning of the game, giving prospective players a chance to look at the game’s mechanics, but also to learn more about David, the protagonist of Kong: Survivor Instinct.
Set after the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, Survivor Instinct presents “a visually rich environment with a single-player experience that will immerse players in a narrative that adds a new chapter to the Monsterverse lore.” The story follows David, an oil rig worker who becomes separated from his daughter Stacy after a sudden Titan attack. Utilizing the surrounding technology, players will manipulate the titans’ movements and use their destructive force to their advantage.
During David’s journey, players will face off against both iconic and brand-new titan species, including the awaited and teased Abaddon — created by the 7LEVELS team in conjunction with Legendary Entertainment. Reuniting with the mighty Kong, players will also encounter other ferocious titans, with the innovative Monarch ORCA Σ device being their only hope to influence the beasts and survive.
Kong: Survivor Instinct launches October 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
