Finn Wolfhard and Jason Reitman Remaking the 1990s Horror Movie ‘Idle Hands’!

Rodman Flender’s 1990s horror-comedy Idle Hands is getting a remake, with Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) attached to write and possibly co-direct the upcoming movie!

Variety reports that Finn Wolfhard and his Hell of a Summer collaborator Billy Bryk will be co-writing the movie, and it’s possible the duo may also end up directing. Wolfhard just made his directorial debut with the slasher Hell of a Summer, which is being released in 2025.

Jason Reitman (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) will produce the Sony Pictures remake of Idle Hands. Reitman is producing alongside Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd via their Team Todd banner. Gil Keenan also will produce, while Maia Eyre is overseeing the project at Sony.

In Idle Hands, Anton Tobias (Devon Sawa) is a channel-surfing, junk-food munching, couch potato burn-out who can’t control the murderous impulses of his recently possessed hand.

With the help of his zombified buddies (Seth Green) and Pnub (Elden Henson), Anton’s got to stop the rampaging devil appendage before it takes total control of his life and ruins any chance he has with class hottie Molly (Jessica Alba).

According to Variety’s report, Wolfhard and Bryk are “committed to breathing new life into the teen movie and keeping it authentic to the demographic.” Stay tuned for more.
