Puppet Master: The Game has some company this year in the killer dolls department. Indie developer Jenito Studios has released the first playable demo for their upcoming fantasy thriller adventure game Limerick: Cadence Mansion, which will be released on PC later this year via Steam.
Described as a “detail-rich first-person thriller-adventure” filled with lore, Limerick is set on the foreboding Nightsonnet Isle. You awaken in an empty cell with your past and purpose shrouded in mystery. You’ve got to break out and figure out just what’s going on. Featuring puzzles that will wrack your brain, otherworldly monsters, and enigmatic clues, Limerick will challenge you each step of the way as you explore the island.
There’s also a happy little marionette named Limerick who really wants to say “hello.” Limerick will chase you throughout the halls of Cadence Mansion, but at the same time, you’ll be delving into the lore left behind by the missing denizens of the mansion, which will reveal the mystery behind this killer doll.
As for the demo itself, if you’re worried about any of the story being revealed while you play, you’re safe. According to Jenito Studios, the complete game will have several “sandbox modes” where you can jump straight into an encounter with Limerick, one of which is this demo.
There are some known issues regarding certain graphics cards, so follow these suggestions if you encounter anything weird.
