Previously released last year for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series and Xbox One, Thunderful and developer JUMPSHIP have announced that their alien invasion game Somerville will finally arrive for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 owners later this month. The game will arrive digitally on August 31 via the PlayStation Store.
“Since releasing Somerville on PC and Xbox last year, we’ve been hard at work on making improvements to our debut title,” said JUMPSHIP Studio Director Claire Boissiere. “We’re thrilled to now be able to release the best version of Somerville yet on PlayStation, along with PlayStation exclusive features like haptic feedback and use of the DualSense 5 Lightbar to reflect the powers you are using in game.”
A narrative-heavy adventure, Somerville centres on you and your family in the wake of an alien invasion conflict. You embark on a journey to find the whereabouts of your family, discovering first hand the full impact on others of this catastrophic event. You’ll explore the devastation left behind by the invading alien force and those who resisted, learning more about their motives and methods the further you journey.
Somerville also focuses on puzzle-solving in the altered landscape, as well as having to negotiate, hide or flee during encounters.
