Retro-style novelizations are all the rage here in the horror world, and A24 has announced today that Ti West and Mia Goth’s X Trilogy is getting a series of three novelizations!
The novelization trilogy from Bram Stoker award-winning writer Tim Waggoner will be kicking off with the release of the official X novelization on September 24, 2024.
Novelizations of both Pearl and MaXXXine will follow later in 2024 and in 2025.
Here’s the release plan…
- X will be published on September 24th, 2024
- Pearl will follow November 19th, 2024
- MaXXXine is set for release in early 2025
The trilogy begins in 1979, as a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in rural Texas. But when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the act, the cast find themselves fighting for their lives. A24 previews, “Author Tim Waggoner translates West’s vision into pulpy print format with grisly new details drawn from the original screenplay.”
With retro covers and a pocket-sized format, these adaptations pay homage to the beloved movie tie-in paperbacks of the 1980s. Check out the cover artwork for each book up above.
