Netflix’s upcoming thriller Apex is being described as Free Solo meets Silence of the Lambs, and Deadline reports this afternoon that Charlize Theron is now in final talks to star.
Baltasar Kormákur (Touch) is in final talks to direct the thriller.
Written by Jeremy Robbins (“The Purge” television series), the film “follows a rock climber who finds herself being hunted in the wild.”
Deadline notes, “Netflix execs were so blown away by the script that they bought with only the producers on board. When it came to an actor and director, Theron and Kormákur were their first choices, and in another rare case both committed after reading the script.”
Charlize Theron is also on board to produce the film for Netflix.
