Rather than announcing a delay, Atlus has instead revealed that their upcoming revisit of Shin Megami Tensei V will instead be bumped up from its original June 21 release. Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will now arrive on June 14 for the Nintendo Switch, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
At the beginning of Vengeance, players will be able to choose from two story paths: the Canon of Creation, and a brand-new route in the Canon of Vengeance. The Canon of Vengeance follows the scenario of SMTV, but changes drastically from the latter half of the game. Those changes include the introduction of the Qadištu, four female demons who seek revenge, which happens to involve the player, who is referred to as the “Key of Resurrection” by the Qadištu.
Vengeance will also see the return of the Press Turn Battle System, which rewards the player for exploiting the weaknesses of enemies. The system has been enhanced to include new skills and elements that expand Vengeance‘s strategic elements. That also includes the addition of exclusive skills available only to certain demons.
Furthermore, all previous DLCs for SMTV will be included with Vengeance. As well, Save Data from Shin Megami Tensei V loaded into Vengeance can carry over data of up to three demons from the demon compendium, as well as previous play bonuses.
