It turns out that we’ll be seeing Mundfish’s Atomic Heart next year. After teasing fans earlier this year with a cryptic release date (and having to fend off rumours of a delay), the developer has revealed via a new trailer that Atomic Heart will release February 21, 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
In addition to the release date trailer for Atomic Heart, Mundfish has also revealed the various editions as well as pre-order bonuses for the dystopian sci-fi FPS. Pre-ordering the game will grant you two exclusive golden skins for your Axe and your Electric Gun.
As for the editions, apart from the base game, you have the Gold and Platinum Editions. The Gold version will include the Midas Glove Skin, as well as the “Atomic Pass” aka Season Pass that will include four DLC packs. The Platinum version includes all of that, as well as the Golden Age Weapon Skin Pack, and the game’s digital artbook.
Set an alternate version of the 1950’s, the story of Atomic Heart takes place in a Soviet Union in which robotics and other advanced technologies were developed during World War II. However, there’s a dark underbelly to it all. These same robots designed to help humans have rebelled against their creators. In addition, secret experiments have led to the emergence of terrifying mutants. You are Agent Major P-3 and it’s up to you to find out what is really lying behind this “utopian” dream.
