After getting a taste of the gameplay during Madmind Studio’ MADNIGHT 2023 Showcase back in December, the developer has released a demo for its upcoming psychological horror title in Paranoid. The demo is available today during Steam Next Fest.
Per the announcement on the Steam page for Paranoid, the game (and assumedly, the demo itself) features the following:
● Dynamic, intense and brutal combat
● Executions by weapons and environment
● Melee weapons and guns
● Puzzles
● Balancing between paranoia and reality
● Terrifying enemies
● A multi-threaded storyline that combines psychological horror with action and survival
● Realistic visuals
● Disturbing atmosphere mixing psychosis and surrealism
Paranoid is a first-person horror title set in the 80s that tells the story of one Patrick Calman, a 31-year-old man whose entire family has been lost under mysterious circumstances. His parents have died, and his sister has suddenly gone missing. The resulting trauma has caused Patrick’s psyche to crumble, with his apartment now becoming his prison. One day, Patrick receives a phone call from someone who sounds like his sister. Patrick makes the choice to leave his apartment in order to discover the truth. In doing so, he exposes himself to nightmarish experiences that threaten to destroy what’s left of his sanity.
Paranoid is currently in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series, with a Halloween 2023 release.
Steam Next Fest goes from February 6 until February 13th. Thanks to RelyOnHorror for the heads up!
