After giving players the chance to play through the first chapter of Baby Blues Nightmares during Steam Next Fest back in June, Stillkrill Studio have announced a prologue for the game, which is available now. As you might surmise, Baby Blues Nightmares – Prologue covers the events leading up to the main game, which has a second demo available if you’re keen on checking that out.
Aiming to capture the vulnerability and helplessness of being a child, Baby Blues Nightmares has you playing as a toddler navigating through the corridors and dimly lit playrooms of your daycare in order to recover your five beloved toys. All the while, you’re also trying to unravel the mysteries that surround the facility.
Lucky for you you have your trusty tricycle, which you’ll need to fix and maintain to navigate the world. Said world will have you making use of your size to crawl through hidden passages, hide in tiny spaces, and use your imagination to outsmart the lurking horrors. Try not to cry when you are scared.. or the monsters will hear you and get you.
Complicating matters is your hunger meter that doubles as your happiness. To maintain your happiness, you must eat chocolates and food scattered about the world. Failure to do so will result in you becoming scared and potentially crying.
